Dear Community of Kansai,
On Saturday, October 18th, the ACCJ Kansai Chapter will be holding its third annual “ACCJ Kansai Walk-A-Thon – Charity Walk & Festival”.
Once again the ACCJ Kansai Chapter has selected “Improving the Environment for Working Women in Japan” as the main theme of this year’s event. With over 1300 people in attendance at last year’s event held at Aoya-mon located in Osaka Castle Park, the ACCJ Kansai Chapter was able to raise approximately 13 million yen.
For the 2008 event location, the ACCJ Kansai Chapter has chosen Kobe Meriken Park as the venue. The ACCJ Kansai Chapter is relying upon the financial support of ACCJ members and member corporations, and other individuals and companies in the community as the Kansai Chapter aims to make a difference. Sponsorship levels range from 50,000 yen to 1,500,000 yen (please see the guidelines on the next page for more information). The ACCJ Kansai Chapter and most importantly, the Kansai community look to you and your organization for support.
The ACCJ Kansai Chapter Community Service Committee will decide which of the interested charities will be deemed recipients of the funds collected according to the following guidelines for eligibility:
- Non-profit organizations or agencies that are carrying out activities on a continuous basis that contribute to “Improving the Environment of Working Women” in the Kansai area.
- Non-profit organizations or groups that require funds to start activities that will contribute to “Improving the Environment of Working Women” in the Kansai area.
- Scholarship for women in financial need qualified to attend or attending a university or graduate school in the Kansai area.
Based on the above criteria, the ACCJ Kansai Chapter Community Service Committee through its Women in Business Subcommittee will evaluate applications from suitable charitable organizations to be recipients of the funds collected from the 2008 ACCJ Kansai Walk-A-Thon – Charity Walk & Festival.
Once again Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Nara City, and Nara Prefecture along with the U.S. Consulate General Osaka-Kobe are being approached to endorse the ACCJ Kansai Walk-A-Thon – Charity Walk & Festival.

ACCJ関西支部では、2008年10月18日にチャリティーイベント「ACCJ関西ウォーカソン〜チャリティーウォーク＆フェスティバル〜」を開催いたします。
本イベントは「働く女性のための環境改善」をテーマに掲げ、昨年大阪城公園・青屋門（大阪市中央区）にて第二回目を開催致しました。1300名を越える方々にご賛同ご参加頂き、スポンサー・参加者の皆様からのご協力で約1300万円の協賛金を集めることができ、イベント運営経費を除いた金額を、関西地区の働く女性を支援している団体・施設に助成金として提供します。皆様のご理解とご協力により、計画当初の予想を上回る成果が得られましたことを心より感謝申し上げます。
本年も、同じく「働く女性のための環境改善」をテーマに、場所を神戸メリケンパーク（神戸市中央区）に移しイベントを開催いたします。ACCJ関西支部では、個人会員、法人会員をはじめ関西地域の有力企業の皆様に対し、50,000円〜1,500,000円の範囲での協賛金のご提供をお願いしております。（協賛金の取扱い要領については説明事項をご参照ください）多くのみなさまからのご支援を承りたく、ご検討下さいますようお願い申し上げます。
本イベントの収益金は、下記の基準に基づく団体/個人に助成金または奨学金として提供いたします。
- 関西地区の働く女性の環境改善に資する活動を継続的に行っている非営利団体･機関
- 関西地区の働く女性の環境改善に資する活動をこれから始めるために、資金を必要としている非営利団体やグループ
- 関西地区で大学又は大学院へ行く女性への奨学金
上記の基準に基づいて、ACCJ関西支部コミュニティーサービス委員会及びウィメンインビジネスサブコミッティーが、助成金または奨学金の支給先としてふさわしい団体/個人を審査のうえ決定します。また、上記条件を満たし助成金または奨学金の支給を希望される団体/個人も併せて募集いたします。
このACCJ関西ウォーカソンイベントには、大阪府、大阪市、兵庫県、神戸市、京都府、京都市、奈良県、奈良市、駐大阪・神戸アメリカ領事館からご後援いただくこととなっております。また、関西地区にある国際学校にもご参加とご支援を頂いております。
協賛金のご提供、助成金・奨学金の申請など本イベントに関しましては、関西支部事務所の山田恵三（やまだけいぞう）またはJustin D. Hanus宛にお問い合わせください。
